First Production of JVA test batch of front and back brakes for KAMAZ vehicles and NEFAZ buses was assembled at JV “KNORR-BREMSE KAMA” and transported to KAMAZ. In accordance with the investment project of the joint venture, there should be produced drum and disc brakes, torsional vibration dampers, automatic control levers for drum brakes at the premises of KAMAZ. The investments to the equipment will make up EUR 25 million. Within 3 years its premises will be increased to 14 thousand sq. m. At the same time the range of produced auto components will be broadened. The production volumes of each product are hundreds of thousands units. At the very beginning KAMAZ will be the main customer of the JV with 70% orders, but the enterprise will gradually increase sales on the Russian market as well. JV KNORR-BREMSE KAMA is the third functioning enterprise in Naberezhnye Chelny with participation of KAMAZ and the leading world auto component producers. OOO ZF KAMA was established in 2005, and OOO CUMMINS KAMA was created in 2006. Cooperating with the leading producers KAMAZ is integrated in the world automobile production. It should be recalled that on 10 March 2008 there was signed an agreement on creation of another JV, this time – with Federal Mogul Corporation (USA) to produce piston assemblies. Tuesday, 08 July 2008 Best for Ninth TimeFor the ninth time the RF Ministry of Economy and Commerce announces that KAMAZ is “Best Exporter of Russia in Automobile Building”. According to the results of 2007 KAMAZ receives this title for the ninth consecutive time, beginning with 1999. 8 years ago the first such success was achieved thanks to almost thousand exported trucks (this is the seventh part of 13.2 thousand units – the whole output in 1999). And in 2007 foreign customers received 13.4 thousand vehicles that is 26% of the whole sales volume. The participants of the exporters’ contest were assessed by 4 nominations in 24 industries: “Best Exporter of Industry”, “Most Dynamically Developing Russian Exporter”, “Best Russian Exporter to CIS Countries” and “For Assistance in Export Advancement”. A tight technological and commercial connection with the mother company enabled OAO NEFAZ – the KAMAZ subsidiary in Neftekamsk – to start winning too. The plant producing tank trucks, dumpers, passenger buses on the KAMAZ chassis, and also – trailers, semitrailers and other automotive and agricultural production, took the title “Best Exporter to CIS Countries” in the field “Automobile Building” two years running. It is worth mentioning that 86% of production of KAMAZ Group is delivered exactly to CIS countries. And NEFAZ delivers its production to 8 former Soviet republics, and also – to North Korea and Vietnam. During 2007 the export volume of the Neftekamsky auto plant increased by 35%. Tuesday, 08 July 2008 Saxon Technologists at KAMAZOn 2 July the delegation of the Federal Land of Saxony, Germany, arrived in Naberezhnye Chelny with a business trip. The representatives of Saxon companies came to participate in the technological forum organized by KAMAZ – “Production of dies and molds for automotive industry of Russia”. The guests visited the automobile and frame-and-stamping plants. The technological forum was held on 4 July. The Saxon companies – the potential partners of the Russian auto giant – made their presentations at the forum. The performance of the KAMAZ enterprises can serve as an example of the Russian manufacturers’ achievements. It is supposed that the management of KAMAZ Inc. and the representatives of the Saxon firms will later hold negotiations about cooperation. Tuesday, 08 July 2008 Trade and Service Center for TurkmenistanOn 5 July an educational, trade and service complex (ETSC) KAMAZ was opened in the capital of Turkmenistan – Ashkhabad. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, President of the RF Dmitry Medvedev, President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaymiyev, Director General of KAMAZ Inc. Sergey Kogoghin participated in the opening ceremony. This complex at the cost of 7 million dollars was erected by Turkmen builders by order and for the means of KAMAZ. The service center is located on the territory of 1.6 hectares. The overall area of the buildings is 6 thousand square meters half of which are occupied with production objects and warehouses. ETSC is meant for complex service of 1000 KAMAZ vehicles per year. The representative office of KAMAZ in Turkmenistan opened in 2008 has already moved to the office building of the complex. Besides, ETSC will become an educational center for specialists of other trade and service centers which are being built in Turkmenistan. According to KAMAZ Foreign Trade Company, 6850 KAMAZ vehicles operate in Turkmenistan. And a fleet of trucks and buses of all classes includes 32200 units. The republic is one of the top three leaders among CIS countries by volumes of purchasing of KAMAZ equipment. In January 2008 there was signed an agreement with the Government of Turkmenistan on delivery of 2.5 thousand KAMAZ vehicles to the country. It is being successfully realized. During half a year there were concluded contracts on shipment of 1207 vehicles. 1125 of them have already been shipped to customers, and, besides, 190 KAMAZ vehicles have been delivered according to 2007 contracts. Thus, for the first 6 months of the year the Turkmen customers of the auto giant received 1315 vehicles and spare parts – that is 5 times as many as for the same period of 2007. In July KAMAZ will deliver 212 vehicles more to Turkmenistan. Contracts on delivery of 1167 vehicles more are in process of signing now. Within the frames of the state program of economic growth till 2020 Turkmenistan realizes large-scale investment projects in which KAMAZ trucks are engaged. They support high dynamics of development of the basic industries: oil and gas processing, transport, construction, textile industry, agriculture. The main customers of KAMAZ are Turkmenneftegaz, Turkmengaz, Turkmengeologia, Turkmenneftegazstroy, Ministry of Automobile Transport and Roads, Ministry of Water Industry, Municipal Union, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Defence, and also – foreign oil and gas processing and construction companies. The opening of the new educational, trade and service complex KAMAZ will provide Turkmen customers with high-level service, accurate supply of spare parts, high-qualified staff repairing and servicing KAMAZ equipment.
