Kogoghin, Director General of KAMAZ Inc. is elected Chairman of board of Russian Automobile Manufacturers Association. Board of Russian vehicle manufacturers association (RAMA) held a session summarizing Association’s work within 2005 and adopted new management structure. Board of Russian Automobile Manufacturers Association held a session summing up Association work during 2005 and adopted new management structure. “The association partook in developing of plan for improving Russian autoindustry, worked out “industrial assembly” regime and adopted technical regulations on environmental care. These projects were the result of constructive negotiations carried on between Industry and Energy Ministry of Russia and RAMA members,” stated Andrey Reus, Deputy Minister of Industry and Energy of RF who headed Automobile Manufacturers Association in 2004. “We introduced effective interaction system serving as a fine example for providing solutions to key autoindustry issues,” he went on. Additionally, reorganization of management and Association’s structure was the major achievement of RAMA in 2004. “We have adopted a new articles of Russian Association; excluded submitting of identical positions and set up a center for handling decisions on personnel changes,” Andrey Reus explained. Adjusting RAMA structure will enable it to be in great demand. “The social basis that is able to consider, work out and promote consolidated initiatives is fundamentally vital for the Russian automobile industry. To form this basis was my major mission when I was Chairman of the board of Russian vehicle manufacturers association,” Andrey Reus said. In accordance with the rotary approach which stands for forming governing body of RAMA he recommended to consider reelecting the RAMA Chairman for the following year. In 2006 Sergey A. Kogoghin, Director General of KAMAZ Inc. has been elected the Chairman. Sergey Kogoghin considers implementation of the adopted Conception for improvement of Russian automobile industry the major RAMA target for 2006. RAMA members believe that the Russian automakers stay in worse conditions than foreign companies that supply Russian market with its cars. “Our aim is make market players compete on equal terms and make them follow national safety standards”, accentuated Reus. The focus is on introduction of technical regulations: the first regulations aimed at reducing noxious emissions to the atmosphere will come to force already in April. RAMA is also adopting 2006-2007 regulations in auto sector, and develops issues on nontariff regulations for import of cars. RAMA intends to promote issues aimed to support export of Russian automakers. The major RAMA achievement in 2005 despite sceptical forecasts, according to Sergey Kogoghin, has been production and sales growth of domestically produced vehicles in heavy-weight class market. KAMAZ export program has improved from 22% to 26% within a year. RAMA is a branch nonprofit organization set by four leading auto manufacturers - AVTOVAZ Inc., KAMAZ Inc., RusPromAvto Ltd., Severstal-avto Inc. To date it is comprised of seven largest auto companies of Russia, ten associated members of auto parts producing companies, R&D. RAMA is responsible for the coordination of the members’ work to offer solutions for improving industry, providing information on developments, and cooperation with international organizations. RAMA is a Russian official representative of the Association of International Automobile Manufacturers (AIAM). |
