Herman Gref
Minister of Economics of the Russian Federation:
“Several years ago we had a hard feeling about the future of KAMAZ. However, today it feels like KAMAZ has its own sophisticated strategy. The team understands what they want; they have political will, opportunities to realize all targets. KAMAZ is of vital importance for the National Economy and military protection of the country. The huge plant that was not built for market conditions have plenty of things to be done, the most important among them is to turn KAMAZ into a flexible market structure. That is a very hard task and the plant will hardly manage it alone. It is encouraging that Tatarstan leaders fully understand problems of KAMAZ. The fact that all KAMAZ plants live and turn out products wanted by Russia is to a large extent due to the leaders of the Republic. It seems that KAMAZ perspectives are connected mainly with international cooperation and world sales market”.
